SAFE AND SECURE RX DRUG DISPOSAL
There are a number of safe disposal kiosks located around the region. Residents can bring any prescription drugs to these locations to be safely disposed of. Permanent drop boxes will take medications any time of the year during business hours. Accepted items include prescription medications, medicated ointments, lotions and creams, liquid medication, and pet medication.
Residents should dump pills directly into the kiosks, or put them in a plastic bag ahead of time. Peel off or black out the labels on pill containers and recycle the containers at home. Liquids, creams and gels should stay in original packaging. Liquids are not accepted at kiosks located in sheriff’s departments.
